Hi, I'm Claire Berry

In retrospect after working for multiple private practices and continuing to feel less than fulfilled, I suppose being a part of creating a new, unique practice was the logical next step. Still, I'm continuously humbled and shocked to be creating this experience with one of my closest and most respected colleagues from the ground up.

I got into this field first because of the people that helped shape my life - and my mental health. From the school counselor in high school that made me feel understood and supported me through my first ever panic attack in my teenage years, I knew I wanted to be able to make others feel supported in difficult times. Then the therapist I had in my late teens into early twenties made me feel truly understood and helped me continue finding my own path towards understanding my own self and I knew that was also something that needed to be shared. Recently, the licensed supervisor who saw me through the last, arguably hardest, leg of my journey into full independent counselor licensure continued to believe in me and my capabilities even when I couldn't and that added to the collection of multitude of feelings of supportiveness that I want to give as many people as possible through my work as a therapist.

All that to say, there have always been mental health professionals throughout that made fundamental positive differences in my life. I have always wanted to share and expand those feelings of being supported and understood to others. Now I stay in this field to share the stories of those who cannot and help others find parts of themselves along the journey that is mental health and wellness.

This - helping to create Two Roads Recovery -  is the ultimate opportunity to put my/our actual core values into the setting I practice within this profession. Our tagline is truly so much more - it's our guiding star to figuring out how we want to show up for ourselves, for our clients, and for our profession. We both left previous spaces because we agreed that we wanted to lean into expanding and redefining what accessible care means and looks like within the mental health field. Accessible care here will include but not stop at accepting major insurance plans and having allotted sliding scale opportunities for those who cannot pay full private pay rates. We plan on continuously integrating ourselves, our values, and our services back into the communities that have gotten us here. Whether that be by collaborating with other professionals, getting paneled with insurance companies, and/or finding services to provide at low (or eventually no) cost through work with nonprofits, both of us are committed to finding ways we can expand mental healthcare into what it should be - affordable, accessible, and a fundamental right.
