Our Mission
At Two Roads Recovery, our practice is built on core values emphasizing a collaborative, mindful, and humanistic approach to mental wellness. Humanistic therapy views the client as the ultimate authority on their experience; we tailor our therapeutic expertise to what works best for you, rejecting a hierarchical structure for collaborative healing. We are dedicated to continuous learning, seeing therapy as a journey we undertake with you, not something we do to you. Our holistic, strength-focused path means personalized support grounded in empathy, respect, safety, inclusivity, community, and authenticity.
Inclusion, Affirmation, and Multicultural Mindfulness:
We are an actively and proudly LGBTQIA+, kink, and non-traditional relationship affirming practice. We believe that true healing requires a safe space where every aspect of an individual's identity is not only accepted but celebrated. Because of this, we’re deeply committed to multicultural mindfulness, which means we recognize, respect, and integrate the influence of cultural background, race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, and intersectional identities into our clinical work. We understand that therapy must be culturally sensitive and tailored to the lived experiences of diverse individuals and communities.
Commitment to Accessible and Affordable Care:
Mental wellness should not be a luxury. We are passionate about making professional, high-quality mental health care both affordable and accessible within our communities. This commitment drives our practice structure, our fee scale, and our dedication to helping individuals overcome barriers to treatment so that everyone has the opportunity to pursue mental health and healing.
Active Community Engagement:
We believe that being an effective practice means being an active and integrated part of the communities in which we operate. Meaning, we’re committed to engaging with local organizations, understanding the unique needs and resources of our neighbors, and contributing positively to the overall well-being of our community. Our practice is rooted in the belief that individual health and community health are interconnected.
Embracing All Pathways to Recovery:
One of my favorite sayings is “Different Strokes for Different Folx” and it’s the same for our approach to therapy. Every single person is unique in how they want to approach treatment - and at Two Roads Recovery, we support every client's ability to choose the path that feels right to them. Whether that’s Medication-Assisted Therapy (MAT), understanding the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP) and how to access medical cannabis for PTSD treatment, or participating in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy to address mental wellness - we’re here to help educate, support, and empower clients to advocate for themselves in treatment planning and goals.
